École Secondaire Notre Dame High School – Dual Language Books

The English Language Learner population at this school will benefit from the addition of dual language fiction and non-fiction books in the Tagalog, Spanish, Tingrinya and Ukrainian languages. $2,500 has been allotted towards the purchase of these books.

St. John Paul II Catholic Outreach School – Faith Centre & Stations of the Cross

This school will help celebrate our Faith by purchasing the Stations of the Cross and other special symbols for its Faith Centre. $1,000 has been allotted towards the purchase of these important Catholic symbols.

Father Henri Voisin School – Packing up for Literacy: Literacy Mentors

Grade 5 students at this school will be asked to choose a book and create engaging activities related to the book to help mentor younger students. $400 has been allotted towards this initiative.

Father Henri Voisin School – Student Leadership

Grade 5 students will be given leadership training to help at recess and to help organize school celebrations. $1,000 has been allotted towards this Student Leadership initiative, which includes a faith team, a health squad, a spirit group, a library group and a general helper group. The entire student population at this school will benefit from these Grade 5 leadership groups.

Father Henri Voisin School – Maker Room

Grade 3, 4 and 5 students at this school will benefit from the creation of a Maker Room. This special room will help enable students to create 21st-century products using a variety of hands-on materials for their various Project Based Learning assignments. $1,200 has been allotted towards the purchase of materials to assist with this project.

École Camille J. Lerouge School – B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L Girls Program

Grade 6 girls at this school are encouraged to participate in this program which stands for “Brave, Elegant, Assertive, Unique, Talented, Important, Fabulous, Uplifting, Lovable.” This group meets once a week and focuses on healthy relationships, healthy eating, establishing a healthy body image, healthy socializing and supports the student faith journey. $1,000 has been allotted towards this ongoing initiative at this school.

École Camille J. Lerouge School – Religious Leaders Retreat

This project will allow approximately 350 Grade 6, 7 and 8 students to attend grade-specific Faith Retreats that help to build faith-based leadership skills.  $5,260 has been allotted towards this initiative.

Wild West Youth Conference

Four students from each school in the Division will have the opportunity to participate in the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton’s Wild West Youth Conference hosted in Red Deer on September 30 to October 2, 2016. Selected students will have the opportunity to grow in their Catholic faith and be leaders of their school communities. $4,000 has been allocated towards this event.

Self-Regulation Tool Kits

Self-regulation tool kits will be developed to help students regulate their sensory needs and make them more productive within a school setting. $2,500 has been allotted to this project.

Go Girls 2017

Go Girls is a one day event that promotes health and wellness to all Grade 5 girls in Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools and Red Deer Public Schools. The high school students volunteer their time to provide mentorship for the Grade 5 girls. This event has been allocated $1,500.
