Faith, Hope & Forgiveness with Immaculée Ilibagiza

The Foundation held its first annual fundraiser on Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Westerner Park. The event centred around our guest speaker, Immaculée Ilibagiza, a Rwandan woman whose life was dramatically transformed during the 1994 Rwandan genocide where she and seven other women spent 91 days huddled in a cramped bathroom. Immaculée entered the bathroom a vibrant 115 pound university student with a loving family and emerged weighing 65 pounds to find that most of her family had been brutally murdered.

Ms. Ilibagiza inspired and motivated all in attendance. This event raised $36,000.
