This brand new school required help purchasing faith literacy materials for Grades 1-5. We helped with the price of kits for two grades – a total of $1,000.
This is a program for Grade 6 girls designed to encourage healthy relationships, body image, etc. Forty-five girls from École Camille J. Lerouge attended this club. $1,000 was allotted for this initiative.
École Camille J. Lerouge sent 350 students from Grades 6 and 7 to a retreat designed to increase their faith-based leadership skills. $2,250 was allotted this project.
All RDCRS Grade 5 girls will join Red Deer Public Schools for an amazing one-day self-awareness event. Young women from École Secondaire Notre Dame High School will be involved as mentors. $1,500 has been allotted towards this event.
This is a day-long, collaborative effort between Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools, Red Deer Public Schools, and the City of Red Deer, where Grade 5 boys experience a variety of activities under the mentorship of high school boys. Approximately 200 Grade 5 boys from our schools will attend this event. $1,630 has been allotted towards this program.
This new RDCRS READS Summer Reading Program is an exciting way to encourage our students to read throughout the summer months. Ten of our schools have chosen to participate in this program with approximately 2,300 students involved in the summer of 2015. $4,500 has been allotted towards this program. Approximately 450 students in Grade 6 to 9 at this school will have the opportunity to participate in a grade specific Faith Retreat throughout the school year. $3,300 has been allotted towards these four retreats at Our Lady of Victory Camp with NET (National Evangelization Team) Ministries.
The Grade 2 classrooms at this school will benefit from the purchase of eighty Bibles. $2,400 has been allotted towards this purchase, knowing that the Bibles will be utilized regularly.
Kindergarten students at this school will benefit from the availability of Bible stories in the school’s Home Reading Library. $500 has been allotted towards the purchase of Bible-related books.
